How do local plants play a part in our health?

Miska Creative Society and the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden have come together to host an all-ages workshop exploring the connections between Indigenous and Chinese plant knowledge.

Begin the morning with a sharing session led by an Indigenous Elder and a Chinese medicine practitioner.

Learn firsthand knowledge about how plants are seen, understood, and valued in both Indigenous and Chinese cultures. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to expand your understanding of place-based cultural teachings, healing traditions, and shared connections between people, plants, and creativity.

Following the talk, participants will take part in a hands-on botanical art workshop using cyanotype printing, a sunlight-based art process where plant forms are placed on light-sensitive paper to create beautiful blue-and-white prints.
