Paper Cutting (Jianzhi | 剪纸) Workshop
$23.00
Paper cutting is one of China’s oldest and most beloved folk arts, practiced across the country by many different ethnic groups. The process relies on simple tools - paper, scissors, or an engraving knife. While red paper is commonly used due to its association with celebration and festivities in Chinese culture, artists often incorporate a variety of colours. These intricate paper cuttings are typically displayed as decorations, adding vibrant colours to walls, windows, doors, and mirrors in homes.
